Advance Mental Health Access in a Community-Based Clinic
Bleuler Psychotherapy Center is hiring a Spanish-speaking Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality care in our nonprofit outpatient mental health clinic in Jackson Heights, Queens. This full-time hybrid role is ideal for a dedicated NP who is passionate about community psychiatry and committed to culturally sensitive, team-based care.
You will treat clients across the lifespan, children, adolescents, and adults, through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, evidence-based medication management, and collaborative planning with our interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and crisis assessments
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including MAT and long-acting injectables
- Collaborate on treatment plans and contribute to clinical case conferences
- Complete documentation in CareLogic EHR in accordance with OMH and agency guidelines
- Participate in initiatives addressing depression, PTSD, suicidal ideation, and tobacco cessation
- Consult with therapists, supervisors, and medical staff to deliver coordinated care
- Support clients with benefit-related documentation (e.g., housing, SSI)
- Attend required trainings, team meetings, and case reviews
- Comply with reporting mandates (Justice Center, NYS Central Registry)
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree and Board Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Active NYS NP and RN licenses in Psychiatry
- Authorized to prescribe Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Bilingual Spanish (required)
- Proficient with EHR and basic tech tools (email, Excel, Word)
- Comfortable treating clients across the lifespan
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of clinical practice in behavioral health or outpatient psychiatry
- Familiarity with OMH Part 599 regulations and trauma-informed care
- Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Experience with community mental health, underserved populations, or telepsychiatry
