Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to partner directly with our CEO and executive leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to shape a people-first culture, foster professional growth, and align HR strategies with the organization’s long-term goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in both operational and strategic HR, as well as experience influencing organizational culture and performance at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to define and implement HR strategies that support overall business objectives.
- Act as a thought partner, advising on how to attract, develop, and retain top talent in a competitive market.
- Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee and refine the full-cycle recruitment process, from workforce planning to onboarding.
- Develop initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all teams.
- Drive performance management processes, ensuring that feedback, evaluations, and professional development plans are in place and effectively executed.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Build a positive, high-performing culture by addressing employee relations matters promptly, fairly, and effectively.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on performance, conflict resolution, and team development.
- High level of emotional intelligence, and confidentiality with the ability to handle sensitive situations and provide guidance to employees, management, and C-suite.
- Maintain a positive work environment by fostering open communication and a culture of respect and trust.
- Create and implement engagement strategies, recognition programs, and professional development pathways.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee concerns and act as mediator in conflict resolution, addressing issues in a fair, consistent and timely manner.
- HR Operations & Compliance
- Lead day-to-day HR operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and practices are up to date, legally compliant, and consistent with best HR standards.
- Partner with the payroll department and third-party administrators to manage compensation, benefits, and leave administration accurately.
- Conduct periodic audits of HR files and records, maintaining strict confidentiality and data integrity.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Strategically assess and recommend competitive compensation structures and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage vendor relationships with benefit providers and ensure employees are well-informed about available resources.
- Training & Development
- Lead ongoing training efforts to enhance leadership capabilities, technical skills, and soft skills throughout the organization.
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted development programs in partnership with departmental managers.
- Supervise employee(s) within the HR department.
- Organizational Culture & Change Management
- Champion the organization’s mission, vision, and values in every aspect of HR strategy.
- Collaborate with executive leaders to drive change management initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
- Continuously refine workflows and processes to improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
- Healthcare or behavioral health background strongly preferred, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a medical or behavioral health setting.
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to navigate complex interpersonal situations.
- Strong organizational design capabilities to create effective team structures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets related to HR functions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
