Bleuler Psychotherapy Center is seeking an experienced Client Billing Representative to join our behavioral health billing team. This is not an entry-level billing role – we are looking for a professional who understands Medicaid, Medicare, commercial payers, denials management, and behavioral healthcare revenue cycles.
If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and confident navigating EHR billing systems and clearinghouses, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in sustaining access to mental health and substance use treatment services across Queens.

What You’ll Do
- Manage accurate billing for services rendered across our outpatient programs
- Run Medicaid and Medicare eligibility checks through ePACES
- Review sessions in claim maintenance and address rejections and denials
- Communicate with payers and resubmit denied claims when appropriate
- Process insurance payments through Inovalon clearinghouse and post to the EHR
- Perform appeals on denied claims
- Manage open claims balance reports and track discrepancies
- Post payments with strict attention to detail
- Collect co-pays, sliding scale payments, and outstanding balances
- Collaborate with front office and intake staff to resolve billing inquiries
- Maintain updated tracking spreadsheets and provide bi-weekly reports to leadership
- Process refund requests and address failed claims activity
What You Bring
- 5+ years of behavioral healthcare billing experience (required)
- Strong working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer billing
- Experience handling denials, modifiers, eligibility checks, and payment posting
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) billing systems
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional communication skills when interacting with payers and internal teams
