POSITION: Substance Use Clinician
Bleuler Chemical Dependency (BCD) Program
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Exempt
SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours
REPORTS TO: Director of Clinic Operations
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Clinic Operations, the Substance Use Addiction Clinician will provide comprehensive and compassionate outpatient treatment services to adults, adolescents, and families/significant others enrolled in the program. They will provide counseling/advocacy services to an assigned caseload and participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to facilitate client recovery. Work with clients in individual and evidenced-based group counseling sessions on issues surrounding chemical use and dependency.
Essential Job Duties:
- Conduct intakes, psychosocial assessments, DWI and gambling screenings and assessments.
- Completes necessary administrative procedures for admission to treatment.
- Collaborate with clients on treatment plan development.
- Maintain professional therapeutic relationship with assigned client caseload.
- Conduct individual, family, group, and crisis counseling sessions.
- Make appropriate referrals for services as necessary.
- Timely and properly complete documentation in accordance with OASAS regulations, including timely submission of PAS-44, 45 and 48.
- Monitor client milestones/progress and work with clients on discharge planning and referral.
- Coordinate client care with Health Homes for eligible participants.
- Maintain all aspects of clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training as required.
- Assist with coordinating treatment with other community providers as required. Outreach as needed.
- Prepare progress reports as needed (Court, Parole, Probation, ACS, EAP, etc.)
- Adhere to the organization’s treatment philosophy and mission.
- Serve as Health Coordinator for health education/risk reduction.
- Maintain communication and teamwork with clinical staff to integrate and enhance clinical services.
- Conducts toxicology testing, as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance.
- Address all failed claims and failed activities.
- Meet productivity requirements.
- Actively participate in individual and/or team supervision and staff meetings.
- Work closely with the leadership team to continue building the census. Represent the organization at events, forums, meetings, etc.
- Provide staff coverage as needed.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- NYS Licensure as an LMSW, LCSW or LMHC.
- Active CASAC. CASAC-T considered but must obtain credential within 12-months of hire.
- Minimum 3-years SUD counseling experience required.
- Must have an OASAS Gambling Addiction credential or the required 17 hours of training to meet the criteria to assess, screen, and/or treat. Otherwise, must obtain it within 2 months of hire. Agency will provide guidance and support on the necessary steps.
- Good oral/written communication in English, bilingual a plus
- Ability to navigate the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Must be proficient in the Twelve Core Functions and Harm reduction model.
- Establish rapport and unconditional positivity to clients.
- Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance.
- Knowledge of OASAS Portal and STARS.
Compensation: $65,000-$95,000
